Editable slides and diagrams for Gemini Notebook
Gemini Notebook exports slides as pictures. Notebook OS Studio gives you the same deck as a .pptx whose text is real text boxes, ten kinds of diagram drawn from your sources, and a full-screen presenter for long decks.
Editable Deck: a .pptx whose text is text
Gemini Notebook exports slides as pictures. Turn Editable Deck on in the Presentation recipe and the deck you download is a .pptx whose title and bullets are real text boxes — editable in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides, with the rendered background kept as one picture layer per slide.
- Title and every bullet are text boxes: retype, restyle, translate, spell-check
- The rendered background stays as one picture layer per slide
- Finished decks reopen from the recipe panel and export again; a closed tab resumes, nothing is generated twice
- Free on every plan — it spends one chat question and one deck render of your Gemini Notebook quota
Slides you can edit, and slides you cannot
| Slide element | Exported from Gemini Notebook | Notebook OS Editable Deck |
|---|---|---|
| Title and bullets | Part of the picture | Real text boxes |
| Fix a typo or a number | Not possible in the file | Retype it in PowerPoint |
| Translate or restyle | Not possible in the file | Edit the text in place |
| Background and artwork | Part of the same picture | One picture layer per slide |
Diagram Studio: ten diagram types from your sources
One chat question turns your sources into one diagram. Download an .svg to paste into Slides or Figma, and a .drawio file you can keep editing in draw.io.
- Run the core set of seven in one go — flowchart, timeline, matrix, hierarchy, use case, data model and sequence — one question each
- Every diagram is saved to a library; reopen it without spending another question
- Open a diagram in draw.io straight from the panel
Free plan: 5 diagrams a month. Pro: unlimited.

Long decks and Premium Deck View
Gemini Notebook's slide generator gets brittle past about 20 slides. The Extended and Extra-long modes of a Studio Recipe split a long deck into small batches that share one design. Premium Deck View, a Pro feature, then plays the batches as one continuous presentation on a dark, full-screen stage you launch straight from the notebook.
- Press P or use the floating Present button; ← → Space to move, F for fullscreen, Esc to exit
- The Gemini Notebook corner mark is hidden only while you present; a downloaded file keeps it
Long decks are free. Premium Deck View is on Pro.
Studio Recipes
99 ready instructions for 9 artifact types, filtered by persona. Notebook OS reads your chat, writes the instruction around your actual notebook sources and triggers Gemini Notebook's native generator. Unlimited on the free plan.
Questions
- How editable is the .pptx really?
- The title and every bullet on each slide are real text boxes: retype them, restyle them, translate them, run a spell-check. The background and any picture Gemini Notebook rendered stay as one image layer per slide, so text moves and the artwork behind it does not.
- Can I convert a deck I generated last month?
- No — an existing deck is already flattened, and there is no text to recover from a picture. Run the Presentation recipe again with Editable Deck on and you get an editable file for the same sources.
- Does it cost extra?
- No. Editable Deck is on every plan, including free. What it spends is your Gemini Notebook quota — one chat question and one deck render — not a Notebook OS allowance.
- Which files does Diagram Studio give me?
- An .svg you can paste into Slides or Figma, and a .drawio file you can keep editing in draw.io. Every diagram is also saved in a library inside the panel, so you can reopen it later without a new question.
- What is free and what is Pro?
- Editable Deck, long decks and all 99 Studio Recipes are free with no limit. Diagram Studio is free for 5 diagrams a month. Premium Deck View, the full-screen presenter, is on Pro.
