Gemini Notebook is great at reading your sources. It is not great at giving them back to you. Once a PDF, article, or video transcript is a source, the parsed text lives inside Gemini Notebook's viewer — easy to read, oddly hard to lift out. Selecting a long transcript by hand, fighting the scroll, and hoping you grabbed all of it is nobody's idea of a workflow.

Notebook OS adds a small button that solves the whole problem: Copy content.

📋 The one-line version: Open any source in Gemini Notebook and a Copy content button sits at the top of the viewer. One click copies the entire parsed text to your clipboard — and tells you how many characters it grabbed.

A real use case: a one-hour YouTube lecture

Say you find a brilliant but very long YouTube video — over an hour. Watching it twice is not happening. Here is the fast path to the text:

1From the Notebook OS side panel, save the YouTube video into Gemini Notebook as a source (search for it in YouTube Search, or add it from the video page).

2In Gemini Notebook, open that source. Gemini Notebook has already parsed the video into a full, timestamped transcript — the whole hour, as clean text.

3At the top of the source viewer, click Copy content. The entire transcript lands on your clipboard. A toast confirms it — "Source content copied (58,204 chars)" — so you know you got all of it, not just the visible screenful.

✅ Source content copied (58,204 chars)
One click at the top of the source viewer copies the whole parsed transcript — with a character count so you know nothing was cut off.

What you can do with it

Once the full text is on your clipboard, it is yours to use anywhere:

  • Paste it into a document and pull the exact quotes you need with correct wording.
  • Drop it into another AI tool for a different kind of analysis, then save that back with AI Conversation Save.
  • Feed it to a translator, a search, or your own notes.
  • Archive the transcript so you have the text even if the video later disappears.

The small details that make it reliable

Copy content grabs the full parsed text, not just what is on screen — it reads the whole scrollable content and strips out stray buttons and toolbar labels so you get clean prose. It works on any source type Gemini Notebook shows in the viewer: PDFs, web pages, pasted text, and video transcripts. And the character count in the confirmation is your proof of completeness — a long lecture copying as tens of thousands of characters is exactly what you want to see.

✦ Reading is one direction; Copy content adds the other. Gemini Notebook pulls the world's text in. This one button lets you take any of it back out — cleanly, completely, in a single click.
